Sonos supports Spotify

Sonos and Spotify joined forces and as a result you can now connect your Spotify premium account with your Sonos music system. This is absolutely one of the best improvements Spotify has made this year. This really shows that even though Spotify got some bad PR about company losses they still are dedicated to their mission: All the Music All the time. Sonos on the other hand, known for it's high quality wifi music system couldn't have made a better choice by adding support for Spotify. Even though their products are in the higher price range this new feature makes you want them even more. High quality music products and high quality online music streaming is simply a match made in heaven.

Remote control Spotify on PC or Mac with Android phones

Spotifiy, wow what a discovery! Thnx Martijn, Roy and David you’ve showed me the incredible benefits that Spotify has to offer. I like the concept of one subscription fee (ranging from $5,- to 10,-) that allows the user to stream all the music that’s available in the community. The sharing feature is another cool thing which allows you to stream the playlists from your facebook friends or playlists from other people they are subscribed too. But maybe best of all the speed when connected to a normal home network it plays all the music instantly. When streaming on your mobile through 3g it sometimes takes a second or two. Offcourse there are still some drawbacks for example some major record labels won’t give the rights to some of it’s music (shame on you Metallica!).

Save battery power and still use your Wlan connections.

Wlan on your phone is really nice especially because it remembers each network you ever log onto… the only problem is that Wlan requires a lot from your battery. So you’ll have to recharge during the day to prevent your phone from dying. The other advantage with Wlan is when you are abroad and don’t want to pay for expensive 3G rates, you can always use Wlan when available on your location. Luckily Wlan coverage has improved over the years and you should be able to go online in most foreign offices, hotels, restaurants and even pubs nowadays.

Control your PopcornHour NMT with Android & iPhone?

Don't you just hate it all these RC's lying around? Offcourse you could invest your money in a Logitech Harmony remote and program all your remotes into it. Recently though I found a cheaper solution and maybe you like it even more compared to the logitech solution. However befor I continue I must admit I got a Logitech harmony... argh... there goes credability ;-) . Anyway controlling your popcorn media centre with your Android phone or Iphone does have some benefits. For example if you want to listen to some music you don't have to turn on the TV to scroll through your play list.

How to Tether with Android phones?

Well that has been a question for me for quite some time now... ever since I got my new notebook I wanted to go online. Since I didn't had a 3g usb stick my only choice was to use the available WIFI networks. Since WIFI coverage is crap and I didn't want to waste money on an extra 3g usb stick with another data subscription I had to find another solution. Thanks to some helpfull links I've found a solution for my problem:
